Glue jacket

I present my jacket! The first item of clothing (apart from the toile) I have made myself completely from scratch. And boy did it take a while with two layers of slippery fabric, a layer of PVA glue and ink (don't ask), then all the decoration on top. In case you can't tell, it's based on the body (...and shells/barnacles a bit) - the inside glue layer is muscle, the pink silk is skin, the barnacles are the spine and the blue glue on the underside of the sleeves is veins. It will hopefully get me an A, I love it and best of all, I can wear it because it's made to my measurements! But I don't think I'll be taking it out very often... Plus my favourite photo from the whole project. :)

I'm warming to the "sporty" look which comes around every spring and that I usually ignore, silently laughing at the fools who follow it. But this being the year of the London Olympics, sportswear is being paraded everywhere and combined with neon, it's kind of young, chilled and fun. And Sandra is a fabulous inspiration. And this (actual sports) hoodie is surprisingly warm and cosy, perfect for the annoyingly cold weather in Amsterdam. And I finally got my own watch which is way too big, just the way I like it. :)

Happy birthday to me for yesterday. I spent the weekend in Amsterdam which I did about the same time last year, possibly becoming a tradition. These photos were taken at the Keukenhof flower park. Spring blossom omnomnom. One spring I'm gonna go see the Japanese cherry trees in DC where I was born. :)

While casually walking, an old lady randomly stopped me on the street and told me how much she loved my leggings which definitely made my day as well as restored my faith in a. humanity's kindness and b. humanity's sense of style.

In other (vaguely related) news, watching The Big Bang Theroy while wearing an appropriately themed sweatshirt only improves it. :)
