I'm not really into NYE or making a big deal of the fact that we change one number when writing the date. But since getting back into Tumblr, I've been really really inspired (I like to call it "having a tumbl-thon") but that hasn't really translated back onto this blog soooo my resolutions this year are to....
1. Dress more like:
a. Stacey Belko from devorelebeaumonstre.
b. Natalie Suarez from Natalie Off Duty
c. Christina Caradonna from Trop Rouge
2. Live more like:
Isabelle KΓΌster from Bohemian Musings
I'll end the year with a nice quote from Stacey: "I always add an obnoxiously large statement necklace or a bunch of stacked necklaces for good measure.". Or statement earrings. Or statement something. :)

On The Beach At Waikiki
^ The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britian
I've been hankering after a ukulele and I got this beautiful purple baby for Christmas. I am in the process of re-learning how to read Western music notation (I can never ever remember which letter each note is despite learning piano and guitar for several years) and discovering chords. I hate chords. And there's so many of them.. However my love of all things small and/or Hawaiian and the inspiration of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britian is driving me on and I'm proud to say after two days I can now play 5 Years Time by Noah and the Whale! :)
L's hat

Winter solstice
Primark jumper
Asos shirt dress (worn unbuttoned under jumper)
Topshop earrings
self-made necklace
American Apparel disco pants
Urban Outfitters shoes
Happy December and happy winter solstice! I try to watch the sun rise at least once every winter and summer so yesterday I welcomed in the shortest day of the year. Not as big a deal as it sounds - sunrise was only at 8.23am. :)

We're walking in the air
Asos floppy hat
Miss Selfridge fur coat
H&M leather skirt
mother's silk shirt
River Island boots
self-made necklace
I absolutely love "statement" (aka embellished and noticable) jewellery, particularly plate necklaces, but have trouble finding ones that I like in shops. I made this one the other day, using a glue gun to stick beads, sequins and ribbon onto felt. The crab was a vintage brooch I bought for my mother but when the pin broke she said I could have it, yay. :)

These Are Days
^ 10,000 Maniacs
I feel it's now appropriately close to Christmas to start wearing glitter and bright colours and all things jazzy again. This blouse/jacket from Singapore has always struck me as quite Christmassy (or at least, themost Christmassy thing I own apart from a onsie) so I wore it to my hockey club's Christmas dinner. :)

Inspiration - Free thing
I'm getting a little tired of the extremes of short and long and craving some more relaxed in-between lengths. Natalie Off Duty has definitely been an influence and I can just see myself braving the winter in something bohemian and grungy like these. :)

Edit: Had to add a couple more photos in. <3 font="font">3>

Goodbye to the too-good-to-be true kinda love
^ Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
mother's silk shirt
vintage brooch
Topshop gloves
River Island fur coat
gifted scarf
metal cuff from the Christmas markets
Yesterday was the annual family trip to the Christmas markets and boy was it cold, even with every inch of me wrapped up. I think we're starting to get some proper winter weather. Christmas is one of my favourite times of year with the all the pretty lights and the fires and mince pies, let alone the presents! And today it's Advent so it's officially started, yay! :)
