Lost In The Supermarket

H&M jacket
Topshop dress (worn as skirt)
Primark top, daisies painted by me
DIYed socks
River Island boots

Completely by accident, I managed to do something I've always wanted to do - take outfit photos in a supermarket. There's just something about fluorescent lighting and neat piles of stuff that gets me. :)

Ps. Just realised all the writing on the second picture is backwards because I flipped it hahahaha.

C modelling for my latest art project. It's on portraits but I figured out a way to link in my day of the dead obsession. :)

Locked up

IMG_8559

self-made earrings
Asos jacket
bag from Singapore

So yesterday, inspired by my friend C who did the same last week, I temporarily dreadlocked my hair by backcombing, twisting, straightening and hairspraying... it's a bit diconcerting how normal this looked on my hair. I didn't do it very well so they kind of unravelled, especially at the top but I really enjoyed having dreads for the day. So a style to try out properly one day... :)

Asos top
UO sweater
mom's old skirt
River Island boots

I rarely wear this top because it's so delicate but ohhh it's so pretty. Also voici my hair after a good brushing and hairspraying haha. A little backcombing and I could put the 80's to shame right. :)

Do you love me like you used to?

River Island boots
Asos pencil skirt
H&M jacket

This skirt is seriously the comfiest thing ever, and it makes me walk so delicately haha. The sun has started to set before I get home so I now have to practise my standing-still skills for photos in the dark. I'd forgotten how winter is. :)

I've wanted to do photos with a space background for a long time... I'm not completely happy with these but they'll do for now. :)

Ok so I'm possibly getting a little over-excited with the Day of the Dead theme and constantly thinking about flowers and skulls.... This skirt, although it's from a totally different part of the world reminds me both of the colours of Mexico and the dotty painting style of the Aboriginal Australians. Also I am totally back on the 90's scrunchie hype... haven't worn them since I was a kid but they're such a fun way of keeping my hair out of my face. :)

Good bye conservatism, hello winter colour. I've been fairly neutral recently but now I'm re-embracing my favourite thing - colour. Inspired mostly by Natasha Lillipore and Day of the Dead. I'm into jewellery again, just need to get more skulls, flowers and chain then I'll be on a mad one! :)

Ps. The polystyrene head is from last year's art project (relating to this and this). The headdress it's wearing was made by me last summer for festival times. :)

Another whistle-stop tour of a European capital, this time London in two days. Normally I go to London for a specific reason but this time I was showing round my French friend F so we were proper tourists. Hence the pictures of the red telephone box and the tube station.

Also I painted this top inspired by the 3.1 Phillip Lim jumpers which were in turn inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's pop art. I'm looking at Pop Art for my current art project so yano, becoming a little obsessed.... :)

A's leather skirt
H&M shirt

An oldie and a newie. Around winter time I start to think more about fabrics and textures than colours and patterns. So I may wear boring-looking things but inside I still feel awesome. Leather is pretty much the best material ever for clothes, and I like mixing it with knits, shirts, velvet and denim. :)
