More photos of K being my ever-willing model in the shirt outfit I made a couple of projects back. These are my favourite photos from my first term of art school. :)

Lady Vengeance

Some people might say I've been semi stalking Arabelle Sicardi. They might also say I've developed a recent interest in (feminist) makeup. They would be right. I can't find the exact post now, but Arabelle wrote about wearing red eyeshadow inspired by the film Sympathy For Lady Vengeance (which I have not seen but promptly googled). Then several days later, I find I can't get the idea of red eyeshadow out of my head. Since I own barely any eyeshadow, I went for face paint and I think it looks just as cool. I don't know why I've never seen anyone or even thought about wearing red eyeshadow. In hindsight, it seems such an obvious colour choice as it's (vaguely) skin toned…. :)

Asos jumper
old Topshop jeans ripped by me
gloves from Primark
Doc Martens

Being traditionally English and going for a family walk on Boxing Day wearing…. llamas? Yep, my "Christmas" jumper this year has llamas on it because who doesn't love llamas?! :)

Rockin' around

gifted sweater
American Apparel disco pants

Just chillin' under the tree, wearing the most Christmassy outfit I own. Hope everyone is happy this holiday (even if you don't celebrate Christmas). :)

fake fur hat from Snow + Rock
coat made by me out of fabric from India
bag from India
Urban Outfitters purple cardigan
Topshop leather gloves
Asos belt
mother's scarf
Asos jeans
Office boots

My friend K commented that a girl we often see around "always walks like she's starring in her own movie". I always imagine my life is a movie and from that moment, I decided I would start acting like it. So far, this has meant dressing like a princess. :)

velvet dress from Thunder Egg
gifted Christmas cardigan
Zara boots and hat

Winter comfort dressing at its finest. I actually wore my fur coat over this and I was, dare I say it, almost too snuggly. :)

H&M shirt
Topshop skirt
Office boots
self-made body chain
mother's necklace
ring from Affleck's
old velvet scrunchie

Quick outfit photos in the makeshift studio set-up the other day. Man, as soon as I'm rich, I'm going to buy a set of proper lights. After a wide-angle lens, numerous filters and an underwater case, that is. :)

Inspiration: Cold calls

images from Natalie Off Duty, Tumblr, Fashinpirate,

Currently inspired by black boots, flashes of bare skin in the winter cold, piles of luxurious fabrics, and pretty much everything Arabelle does. :)

Winter wonderland

H&M coat
Asos jeans
Office boots
father's tshirt
Topshop belt
Miss Selfridge gold ring
silver ring from Afflecks
bag from Sydney made in Columbia
old velvet headband and scrunchie

My friends are coming home from uni one by one so I'm currently a Lady Who Lunches (a lot). I love this coat but, being white and fluffy, it's quite difficult to style, so I went super simple with a plain tshirt and jeans so I could snuggle up in its fluffiness. :)

River Island fur coat
velvet dress from Thunder Egg
gifted sparkly tights
Topshop over-the-knee socks
Office boots
pocket watch from Christmas markets (on a random chain)
earrings made by me out of a necklace from the V&A museum

I would be very happy to wear nothing but velvet, fur and sparkles until the end of winter because this A-line navy velvet dress is what dreams are made of. A-line skirts are the way forward, people. Also, these tights are actually black with glittery pink thread but for some reason they were almost impossible to photograph from an angle where they look pink… :)

cape of strips of paper made by me
band tshirt worn inside out
jeans from India (ripped by me)
River Island shoes

Just makin' an' photographin' a cape you made out of strips and bits of your latest textiles project… as you do. This temporary cape was surprisingly swishy and fun to walk in. I need more capes in my life. :)

I used to only wear these jeans in the house, because they're stretchy and soft and don't make the backs of your knees sore after you've sat cross-legged for a while, but also because I went through a phase of thinking they weren't "flattering". But the whole idea of "flattering" clothes is just a socially-acceptable way of body-shaming. Something is truly flattering if it makes the person wearing it look and feel fab, and that could be any style of clothing, depending on their taste and mood. I don't want people to tell me that these shape jeans don't "flatter" my "body shape" or whatever. The only reason I shouldn't wear these jeans is if I alone decide that I do not want to. I admit, straight-cut jeans are not something I wear often, but after a hankering for a pair of clean-cut, yet soft and graceful jeans, I ripped open the knees of these and haven't looked back since. Basically, this was all just a really long way of saying, "hey I ripped the knees of some jeans and now I love them". :)
