The light in Madrid was wonderful - so cold but so bright. And although my mom's camera is pretty good - that wide angle effect is not edited - I was so happy to come home to a new lens. :)

Packing a warm capsule wardrobe for five days in only hand luggage was hard but somehow I managed. Why is it that the cold abroad is always much colder than the cold at home? Going through my pictures from Madrid, it seems all we did was take photos of graffiti and eat. The best sort of "educational" trip in the middle of a hectic school term. :)

Inspiration - Spring Beginning

Pictures from Fashiontoast, Hanneli Mustaparta, Natalie Off Duty,
Topshop tumblr, Vogue 1992, ASHISH SS 2012 and unknown

Bit of a picture overload since I'm on a spring hype. I'm going through a simple phase, but I've been feeling a bit like minimalism isn't "me" (trying to find one comfortable, transport-friendly outfit for interview that says "me" is ridiculously difficult. 4 times.). But then I remembered why I started this blog - to document how my style changes. I've always enjoyed having a changeable, eclectic style so why am I suddenly attempting to pigeon-hole myself? Yes I love "maximalism" but I can be minimalist too, if I want to. Also, stuffing 5 days worth of clothes into hand luggage is somewhat impossible so a travel capsule wardobe may be having an influence. :)

You're always holding onto stuff

beanie from Ebay
vintage denim jacket
school hoodie
 skirt from Scotland
Miss Selfridge tights
UO shoes
Asos cuffs

Yeah I rarely wear hoodies out of the house, mostly because they're baggy for comfort and therefore look awful but this is the smallest hoodie I own and after rediscovering it in the back of my wardrobe... I kind of love it. Also beats me why my hair looks orange. I chopped the ends off the other day and while I like it, I'm now tempted to go shorter or something. Some sort of wild change. :)

Ps. I actually thought this was a rather "normal" outfit for me... something my friends immediately contested by telling me I looked like a cross between Hubert from La Haine and Cher from Clueless...

In honour of the bright light I thought I'd try wearing all white. Plan failed when I realised I don't own any white trousers/skirt but I did dig out my white leather jacket which I adore but am always scared of wearing incase it gets dirty haha. Also took the opportunity to show you my fav headband of the minute, with multicoloured googly eyes, yeeeeah. :)

very old Topshop jeans (ripped only half on purpose)
River Island heeled boots

I woke up to dazzling sun today. I know I complain about the sun in summer but I do love sun in winter, especially when it constrasts with a slight chill in the air. And it gives me a real excuse to wear sunglasses. Also, I kind of feel like a celebrity in this outfit (and not in a good way). You know what I mean? Those celebrities that are all "I have taste as well as money - look I'm wearing a vintage jacket and my expensive jeans are artfully ripped". All I needed was a little Chanel bag to finish it.... Whatever. Anyway today's sun has got me seriously excited to go to Madrid later in the week. :)

Two days ago disaster struck - my beloved camera Lije's lens broke and it's going to be a while before it's fixed/I get a replacement so I have to manage with my mom's point-and-shoot digital waaaah. (On the plus side it's a wide angle lens....). Add this to continued interview stress, and I'm sorry if I don't post very often at the moment. :)

Unusual for me to wear just one "piece", especially with straight, slicked back hair so I thought I'd share. I'd like to think this is 90's minimalism slash my standard embellishment maximalism. :)

I rarely post what I wear when I go out, mostly because of a lack of time and prevalent darkness. So here's a quick photo of what I wore last night, including my new favourite skirt. :)

Inspiration - Cuddle

Photos from Natalie Off Duty (man she's awesome) and The Neighbourhood Watch

There's something about the part of winter that seems such a let down after all the glitter and sparkly hype of Christmas and NYE, but I'm going to enjoy the non freezing weather wearing fur, shearling (if I can get my hands on any), flares, acid wash, shirts and blouses, playsuits and Converse until spring comes along. Grungy but clean and warm, if that makes sense. :)

Yes you could say I'm basically dressed as my mother but she never wears these. But I finally realised these pants are meant to be worn around the waist, not baggy and low as sweatpants which is how I normally wear them aha. And these earrings are the latest in my Miró-inspired jewellery collection. The one with the cross and red jewel symbolises religion while the green one is nature. :)

Today was the first day I saw the sun and I remembered spring. It's funny how you forget the season will change; it surprises me each time. It made me think of Barcelona, where I long to return and call "home". This is a photo from August which I never posted and this is one of my favourite dresses (but it's kinda hard to wear, due to having a see-through criss-cross back). :)

Ps. Muchos apologies for the gap in posting. I've been stupidly busy putting together my portfolio for art school interviews akkk.
