I went for a 1930's look for the theatre the other day, mostly because I was having a terrible hair day and this turban is the only hat I currently have (all my friends seem to have all my hats). I rarely wear this turban because it's kind of a hard colour to match but it seems to go wonderfully with bright red and blue here; don't know why I've not thought of this combination before! These photos really bring out my inner screen siren. :)

It is one of my joys in life to dress up and go to the theatre, particularly around Christmas time. I may have a slightly excessive number of theatre trips planned this holiday but I love musicals and this just means more chance to dress up! This has become my number one theatre skirt since it's a little delicate for a night involving much else than slowly walking and sitting properly. Also these shoes! Scored during a sample sale where my friends and I went a little mad, I stumbled (literally) across these beauties at a reasonable price and since I've always wanted some holographic shoes…. Even if they are a size or two too big so make me look like I have clown feet, I'm happy. :)

Cheap Monday boots
H&M earrings
bangles and hair jewellery from India
watch from Shepard's Bush Market

For me, this Christmas is very different to all the others I've had, so I'm trussing myself up in my most spectacular protective clothing. Enter this vintage beauty I randomly stumbled across a week or so ago. I can't be sure, but I think it's an 80's homage to 1930's western orientalism in thick velvet. With heavy beading. What's not to love?! :)

Only A Winter's Tale

I'm back! I never meant to take a blog hiatus but uni… uni got in the way. Yeah… Anyway, it's crazy to think that the last time I wore this dress I was under the hot Texan desert sun and now I'm in bloody cold London.

vintage dress
vintage velvet top (ok, top half of a dress I chopped up)
fake fur collar (from an old cape I chopped up)
Asos cardigan
mother's coat
Topshop gloves
random tights (you can't tell in these photos but they are pink and glittery!)
backpack from Spain
platform Converse
Pandora bracelet
watch from Shepard's Bush Market

I went to the Meadham Kirchhoff Christmas sample the other day (this is exactly why I love living in London! I met Ed!) and there was a lady there wearing a lace petticoat under a long black wool skirt with lil Victoriana-looking boots, who I can't get out of my head. This is kind of the opposite outfit to what she was wearing but in my head, it goes. I'm getting back into layering but it's a bit hard considering I left all my "boring" clothes back in Manchester… But who needs normal clothes when you've got such an exciting wardrobe?! :)
