Gifted jewellery

These earrings are my absolute favourites and they're so adorable. I'm wearing them right now. My dad picked them out! He actually has pretty good taste. They're from Fabindia, an ethical shop full of beautiful clothes, jewellery and furnishings.

The blue of this is so bright and sparkly! I can't wait to wear it with something plain black or white.

I chose these bangles to sort of match the necklace and earrings above. There were plain blue ones too but I liked the green in these.

I love these bright purple bangles too (the photo doesn't show the colour that well) and for some reason, they seem to go with everything! I'm wearing these too.

The fully beaded necklace and earring sets and bangles were a gift from my mom's friend, the moon earrings I bought myself, and the other neckalces and earrings were gifts from relatives. :)

'Adams Clothing Store: Clothing mankind since God knows..'

^ A shop name that me and my cousins saw in a mall in Mumbai

Wearing a tailor-made salwar kameez (and dupatta - du-put-ta) with material my dad got from Hyderabad, and a necklace and earrings set that I got as a gift from one of my mum's friends. We see lots of friends and family here so that means I get lots of gifts which are often jewellery. I'll show some pictures soon, although I have quite a few posts lined up! :)

Lalbagh Park & Independence Day Flower Show

India's Independence Day is the 15th August. This a rose display in the shape of the India Gate in Delhi.

The colours of the Indian flag are orange, white and green (and a blue chakra in the middle).

Wearing a churida and kameez from Fabindia (above).

I think that's a goat. :)

Patterns

Everything in India is beautifully patterned, even the mattresses and floor mats (picture 8). These are just some of them my mom's and my clothes, in our flat in Bangalore and my cousin's painted tattoo. :)

Bangalore

This was taken by my 5 year old cousin. To be honest, I'm suprised it turned out so well. Wearing churida kameezes (chur-ee-dar -mee-z) in all pictures. A churida kameez is like a salwar kameez (sul-var) but the trousers part is much tighter on the calf.

This is a swinging sofa from Gujarat called a 'jhoola'. Isn't it beautiful? :)

Things I want

So I've already started my Christmas list. Yes, I know it's still technically summer. (By the way, Indian Vogue seems to actually do the trends of the season, something which suprised me no end when I opened it and saw *gasp* the spring collections! In England, I'm sure everyone is already planning their autumn wardrobes, 'cause I sure am. But Vogue, do you really think someone in India would buy a massive Chanel fantasy fur jacket? They might get a tad bit warm perhaps?)

1. Maxi dress from H&M - finally found the perfect one! It doesn't make me look short or fat!
2. Chanel-esque jacket from H&M. It's been in the stores for ages but I only just realised that I am in love with it. I hope it's still there when I get back!
3. Swedish Hasbeens. Why is it that everyone has them expect for me? They're all perfect. I love, I NEED.
4. Clogs. Hated them at first, can't stop thinking about them now. You can thank Rumi Neely and Miu Miu for that.. (Hasbeens count but I wouldn't say no to Hasbeens and some other clogs)
5. Bright orange envolope clutch. I'm gonna make it just as soon as I get my hands on some orange suede.
6. Ribbons. They can be used for anything! Good thing I have a collection from when I was younger.
7. Nice trousers - I barely have any trousers that aren't jeans or shorts or leggings!

Ps. I have realised that I do all my best thinking at night. So from now on I'm keeping a notebook by my bed at all times!

Kenya

I was looking through the photos from last year's trip to Kenya and they were so beautiful I thought I'd share some. You're lucky - these are UNSEEN (meaning I haven't had chance to put them on Facebook.. I forgot okay, I know it's been almost exactly a year..)

Incase this confuses anyone (it confused me and I'm probably the one that took it), this is a photo taken from the sea looking out to the (sea) horizon. The pale bit is a massive sandbar which was actually really far from the shore but the water before it was extremely shallow (and filled with sea urchins so you had to try and swim which was pretty hard), and I think there's another sandbar a bit further out.

I love love love this picture.

These pictures were all taken on the Kenyan coast (Diani Beach to be exact, except the last one which was taken near a small village called Gazi). It was an absolutely amazing holiday and we went on safari too, but I'll save those photos for another time. :)
