Gozo

So I spent just over a week on the island of Gozo which is next to Malta. You can tell which photos were taken in the first few days and which were taken towards the end by my tan hahaha.

Top (cut up by me) and culottes from River Island, hat from Asos, flipflops from India and sunglasses found in my house and are now claimed as mine.

Gozo is so much hotter than I expected and I do not deal well which heat. I spent most of my time alternately hiding from the sun or tanning. Wearing a top made and embroidered by either my aunt, shorts that were formerely C's (actually in love with them. Shame they're almost indecently short though) and ankle bracelet from Hawaii.

Topshop dress, Acsessorize scarf.

Can't remember where this swinsuit's from, I've had it for a couple of years and I love it.

Mom's dress from Kenya, shirt from H&M, gifted scarf (with metal decoration attatched) from S, gifted bracelets from a family friend in India and my beautiful thought-journal bought from the Christmas markets.

Top from Asos, swimsuit from Sweaty Betty.

Necklace bought from a little traditional crafts shop in Gozo.

Topshop shirt and belt, mom's jeans cut up by me.

Sure will miss my morning pool dip. And my evening dip too of course. I do love water. :)

Ps. How adorable is this little lace umbrella?! Lace-making is a tradition in Gozo and we saw many old ladies sitting in the shade weaving and crocheting.

Deep blue

More zoo photos. Wish I could take these in real life underwater but SLR underwater cases are insanely expensive. Compact digital it is then for snorkelling this week. :)

Zoology

A few of the (many) photos I took at the zoo. There's a seperate load of fishy ones coming up soon because I love sea (or freshwater) creatures (I think I get it from my dad because when I was young he started to scuba dive and he taught me all about marine life). Also I just love water.

I'm still not sure whether the frog is looking at a friend, a reflection of himself, or if it's just a reflection in the glass. Mindblown.

Philosophical chimp.

Possibly the first time I have ever seen the jaguar in that exhibit! He must have known that because he strutted around for a good 5 minutes while I and everyone else around took full advantage with our cameras.

This little baby orangutan was the cutest and he just couldn't stay still. :)

Paper plane dreams

I'm sure I've talked about it before, but at the moment I want nothing more than to be Oracle Fox. Gypsies, aztecs, navajos, beaches, wood, metal, crosses, angels, feathers, weaves, patterns, backpacks, travellers. You name it, I'm in love with it. What I particularly like about Mandy's version of Aussie life is the cleanness of it. You know, the feeling after a day in the sun and sea, when you're dry and warm, in clean clothes sitting down to dinner feeling sun-tired and happy and free after a long day of having fun. That's how I want my holiday to feel. :)

Ps. None of these photos are mine. I can't remember but I presume most of them are from Oracle Fox.

Inspiration - Heady

After becoming a hippy at Wakestock festival (photos from that in a couple of weeks when I'm back and they're printed and scanned), I felt like a more glamourous holiday. While looking for packing inspiration, I found this shoot with Ashley Smith by Miles Aldridge for Vogue Italia on FGR. With it's bright jewel colours, bouffant hair and cat's eye sunglasses is exactly what I was thinking of. :)

Ps. Sorry it's been such a long time since my last post - I had scheduled some but clearly it didn't work GR. I've re-done them so they should post this week while I'm away again.

Windblown

My feather obsession is growing but as one can only wear so many at once, I have turned to crosses and angels as well à la my Swedish friend. Both earrings made by me and top from Topshop.

I'm basically camping for the next week but I'll try to schedule some posts. Look forward to summer inspiration pictures. :)
