Doppelgängers

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when I have a camera and a computer and boredom.

Wearing culottes from River Island and two Abercrombie tops. :)

Escapades with plebs, fairies, goblins and god

Sorry I've not been posting; I've been ill. And ill = sweats and oversized hoodies. Although my friend R pointed out 'you're still wearing bright green trousers'. (Do people not generally wear bright green sweats? They were Abercrombie - I mean how much more mainstream do you get?)

I love this photo so much. Had to crop L out of it though because some idiot got their hand in the way. Cue evil glare.

Wearing an American Apparel skirt which I wear as a dress, a top from H&M that I cut off and now love to bits, lacy cycling shorts from Topshop and my DM's.

So I chilled with some friends today, hence the title.

Wow, we look happy. From L to R: R, A, me and L. A thinks he looks like a zombie and I have to agree.

R, me, S and L on some wierd no-spinny roundabout-y thing.

Me on L and A on S on swings. Not the easiest feat in the world and mine and L's legs appear to have swapped..

Apparently, it's 'embarassing' to take pictures of me looking 'wierd' for this blog (this is coming from L who is pulling a Gaga-esque pose in the picture below). So no themed photoshoots today or tomorow, sadly.

Don't know why S and A are laughing at us. Wierdos.

Embarassing? Me? Pfffft. :)

Ps. A new follower. Thank you so much for your really sweet comment!

Y así llega el primer día de la libertad de verano

Guess the story (or make up your own):

My story: A young Southern girl had recieved a single red rose from an admirer and held it while waiting in the garden for him to come see her. Eventually she grew tired of waiting and hoping to see his face so she was heading back indoors when a bouquet of flowers in a vase on the window ledge caught her eye. She decided her first admirer must have lost interest and that the second sounded must more promising so she cheekily headed off to see him. (That's all in past times, obviously, not sure when exactly.)

I've wanted a gingham skirt or dress ever since Christopher Kane RTW SS10 and yesterday I found this perfect skirt in H&M. Also wearing a random white top of my mother's, a belt of my mother's (one of my friends said 'it looks so vintage!'. That's because it probably is; my my family hoards clothes for years), boater from Claire's, earring that my auntie made, and a men's necklace from Primark. My friend L was right - men's jewellery is often much better than women's!

Prepare for millions of posts. :)

Freedom, finally

Bonjour blog, sorry I've been posting a little sporadically. But today was the last day of school and now I'm FREE! FREE AS A BIRD! 'Till September. And since it was a half day, some friends (T, L and V) and I decided to join everyone else by indulging in some (mainstream) retail therapy.

I think she was dancing.. Crazy child.

All H&M clothes, my tights from Miss Selfridge. Next clothes all from Topshop, same tights.

T (in first picture) actually picked out this dress and I stole it to try on because it looked so good on her. It's not what I would normally go for, but I kinda liked it. Would have been better with a tshirt underneath though.

This dress was petite so totally did not fit me, but I had to try it on anyway because it's like the white one but in a lovely sea foam green. (Is sea foam green a colour? Well now it's the colour of that dress.)

Absolutely love this dress. It's perfect - denim, popper buttons, high neck AND collar. I like the western theme at the moment (which reminds me - I need to watch some westerns and Clint Eastwoods. Back to the Future Part III counts too.). Love this even more than the white dress. Possibly even more than this leather aviator jacket with (fake) sheepskin lining à la Burberry FW10 from Asos that I NEED badly. Possibly.

To be honest, I'm a little shopped out. :)

Bounce to earth

On Saturday I went to my friend O's house with a few other friends. We had a bouncy castle. It's been probably years since I've been on one and I'd forgotten how much fun they are!

I love this photo so much. I was jumping off the castle pratically right onto my friend who was taking the photo.

Mmm, ice lollies. Calipos to be precise. That's Cuh-lip-oh, not Cal-ip-oh or Cay-lip-oh or something stupid like Cuh-lyp-oh. We had a big debate about this.

Wearing a tshirt of my dad's frmo Hawai'i and my mom's DIY shorts from jeans.

This wierd girl I, she was like obsessed with my hair and totally spent like 5 whole minutes like taking pictures of it. :)

We'll sing Hallelujah

^ Taylor Swift. I hope that's how you spell hallelujah, I couldn't be bothered to check.

I love serious shopping with the girls, it's so much fun. Here's some stuff that I fell in love with and didn't get so will have to beg for.

Forgive the stupid pose, I.. have no excuse, sorry.

Black eo-prene dress from River Island. I adored the feel - thick and mouldable yet light and stretchy. It wasn't a great fit but this is the first neo-prene thing I've seen in stores and I'm definately going to keep looking. Had a massive chunky zip down the back too - my favourite. It made me laugh how some guy in the shop said, 'They're getting wierder in here.'. Yep, and I'm lovin' it. Somewhat Gaga-esque.

Grey/silver silk (I think) dress also from River Island. Lovely drapey-ness, if a tad formal/grown up for me. But with heels for an occasion would be lovely. My favourite thing about it was that it had pockets! Useable ones! I love pockets, I don't like carrying round a bag at the moment - too much effort.

My friend L (in the background of the top and bottom pictures) picked out this dress from Topshop and I stole it from her because it's perfect. Tight but loose because of the draping, white but not too blinding because of the mesh and a nice neckline and top half. Too often dresses have an arkward neckline or don't fit my shoulders well. Now if only I had somewhere to wear this to so I could convince the parents that I do in fact need it..
My other friend L (in the second picture) is also wearing a dress from Topshop. Surprising, since we were in the Topshop changing rooms.

Funny story. My friend E and I were in H&M when I saw this adorable jacket in this rather eye-watering shade of yellow. Then we found a dress and a cardigan in the exact same shade, so of course I decided to colour co-ordinate. What I didn't realise was that my new cycling shorts (with lace - love them) from Topshop also matched.
Then I saw this jacket and this bralet/top. And once again, co-ordination! With my black velvet bodycon skirt that my mother made from a pair of leggings and my new cycling shorts.

Those last two outfits started as a joke but I realised I really liked them. Go co-ordination! (I think that's the most times I've ever said co-ordination in one go. Oooh, one more!) And I don't know why I tried on so many dresses. Maybe it was because I was shopping with so many girls. :)

Pps. Everyone on Lookbook (and Rumi Neely) seems to love Forever 21! I think I'm going to America in the summer so I will definately be going - it sounds great.

Summer essentials

Here are the things I neeeeeeeed for summer (in no particular order):

1. Denim shorts. A skirt just won't cut it. How is one supposed to do anything in a teeny tiny short tight denim skirt without tights? No tights because it is simply not right, ESPECIALLY black opaques. I've never liked tights with denim. In fact, I always used to hate black opaques because they remind me of school uniform.
2. Cycing shorts. They rock. You can wear them as normal shorts, under normal shorts, under slightly-too-short dresses and tops and under normal dresses and skirts so you can do anything!
3. Culottes. Like a skirt, but shorts. What's not to love? They're so priiiiddy.
4. Straw hat. Because sometimes my head feels lonely and a nice boater, trilby or cowboy (or other) adds charm to any outfit. And you can use them to put over your face when the sun (or somebody) is being annoying.
5. Thin brown leather belt. Goes with everything and everything.
6. Beat-up boots. Because flip-flops make my feet look fat and chunky boots stop me getting too stupidly lala and summery. And they're cool. And show that you don't just wear boots in the winter, you are truly committed to them. (Yes, I'm talking about my DM's. Still wear them almost everyday..)
7. One perfume. A gorgeous one that is your own scent. Mine is plumerias from Hawai'i, reminds me of when I was younger.
8. A thin long sleeved jacket eg. a jersey blazer. Because bare arms and bare legs is too much and I just want to tan my legs so they are the same colour as my arms.
9. Loose vests and tshirts. Preferably a father, brother or boyfriend's tshirts; they're always the comfiest (is that a word? It is now).
10. Short hair. So much easier and nowhere near as hot, even when down.
10. A camera. Preferably a really good one. Although some are so bad they're good.
11. Friends. Need I say more?

From L to R: L wearing Topshop shorts, Hollister top and a black cardi; me wearing my dad's top and my mom's DIY shorts from jeans; O wearing a Chester college rugby shirt, shorts and tights; her brother C wearing a striped top and jeans; and C wearing a top from Miss Selfridge most likely and black leggings. Some of my best buds (and a lovely brother). :)

Edit: How could I forget a Starbucks caramel cream frappuccino? My friend L (not the one in the photo) and I are OBSESSED.
